The catch

Per-node + BYOC means YOU run and pay for the storage/compute in your account — the "no data-volume bill" savings partly shift into your own infra and ops, and eBPF gives less code-level depth than SDK APM.

The honest take

One of the names you probably hadn’t heard — eBPF auto-instrumentation, runs in your own cloud, priced per node. The pitch is “Datadog without the bill”; the honest version is that some of that bill just moves into your own AWS account.
